Today marks a special milestone for Cruising Krakow. Twenty years ago, we opened our doors with a modest fleet of 20 bikes and a simple goal: to offer visitors a unique way to explore the beautiful city of Krakow. Since then, our journey has been one of growth, innovation, and unforgettable experiences. We now proudly serve over 10,000 guests each year, with a fleet expanded to 100 bikes and an exciting addition of Segways to our offerings. This post celebrates our history, highlights key milestones, and shares how we continue to bring joy to those who choose to discover Krakow on wheels.

The Early Days: Starting Small with Big Dreams
When Cruising Krakow began in 2006, the idea was simple: provide tourists and locals with an easy, fun way to see the city beyond the usual walking tours. We started with just 20 bikes, carefully selected for comfort and reliability. Our team was small but passionate, focused on delivering personal service and insider knowledge about Krakow’s hidden gems.
At that time, cycling was not as popular as it is today. Many people were hesitant to try it, especially in a city with cobblestone streets and busy traffic. We worked hard to change that perception by offering guided tours that combined safety, history, and fun. Our early guests appreciated the chance to cover more ground while enjoying fresh air and beautiful views.
Growing the Fleet and Expanding the Experience
As word spread, demand grew steadily. By year five, we had doubled our fleet to 40 bikes and introduced new routes that showcased different parts of Krakow, from the historic Old Town to the scenic Vistula River paths. We listened closely to guest feedback and adapted our tours to include stops at local markets, parks, and cultural landmarks.
The real turning point came when we reached 100 bikes in our fleet. This expansion allowed us to serve more guests simultaneously and offer a wider variety of bikes, including electric models for those who wanted an easier ride. The larger fleet also made it possible to organize group tours, family outings, and corporate events.
Introducing Segways: A New Way to Explore
In 2015, we added Segways to our rental options. This move was inspired by the desire to provide a fresh, exciting way to experience Krakow. Segways are easy to learn and perfect for those who want to cover more distance without getting tired. They quickly became popular among younger visitors and those looking for a unique adventure.
Our Segway tours combine technology with sightseeing, taking guests through parks, along riverbanks, and into neighborhoods less accessible by car or bus. We provide thorough training and safety gear to ensure everyone feels confident and comfortable.
Serving Over 10,000 Guests: Stories That Inspire Us
Over the past two decades, more than 10,000 guests have chosen Cruising Krakow to explore the city. Each visitor brings a new story, and many return year after year. We’ve hosted families, solo travelers, couples, and groups from all over the world.
Some memorable moments include:
A couple celebrating their honeymoon by cycling through Krakow’s romantic spots.
A group of friends who took a Segway tour and ended the day with a picnic by the river.
Local schools organizing educational bike rides to teach children about Krakow’s history and environment.
These stories remind us why we do what we do: to create experiences that connect people with the city and with each other.
