I camp high above the ocean in Achadas da Cruz, roll through the streets of Funchal, and explore the lush mountain bike trails of Ribeiro Frio deep in the island’s green interior. Madeira is not an easy island to cycle — but that’s exactly what makes it unforgettable. This trip was completely self-supported. no backup vehicle — just the bike, the gear, and the road ahead.
